Sizing Guide

Choosing the Right Size

If a dancer's measurements fall across different size ranges, these tips will help you choose the best fit:

  • One-piece costumes: The girth measurement is the most important, as it has the biggest impact on overall fit.
  • Tops: Use the bust/chest measurement as your guide.
  • Bottoms: The hip measurement is the most important.

If a dancer falls between two sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger size for the most comfortable fit.

If you're ordering several months before your performance and your dancers are still growing, it's a good idea to allow an extra 4–5 cm in the girth measurement to accommodate growth.

Keep in mind that different fabrics and costume designs will fit slightly differently, and every dancer's body shape is unique. A costume may feel different from one style to the next, even when the measurements are the same.

It's also worth considering the design details of the costume. Embellishments such as fringing, appliqués, trims, sequins and other decorative features can affect how much stretch a costume has in certain areas. For example, a fringe panel around the hips may reduce the amount of give as the costume is pulled on. If your dancer is between sizes and the costume has less stretch because of its design, sizing up is often the better option.

A tip from our team: take a full-length group photo of your dancers before ordering. It's a great reference for comparing body proportions across your group and can make sizing decisions much easier.
